SAN Miguel Brewery in Bacolod City collaborates with the Department of Education (DepEd) in its annual program: The Brigada Eskwela.

The Brigada Eskwela is considered national schools’ maintenance week that aims to bring education stakeholders to take part in the cleanup and overall preparation of the facilities for the school opening.

SMB Bacolod employees painted the school buildings of the company’s adopted school - the Patricia Homes Elementary School in Barangay Granada, which will give the students a “fresh start” in the new school year.

The activity is also part of the company’s team “Malasakit program,” where employees sign up to do volunteer work such as school clean-up activities and tree planting and growing, among others. This is anchored on the company values of compassion and accountability.

The team was led by the plant manager, Dante Patrimonio and other members of the company’s management committee.

The Brigada Eskwela, with this year’s theme, “Matatag na Bayan Para sa Maunlad na Paaralan,” is an annual maintenance program that aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare facilities ready for the school opening.

Meanwhile, the SMB Bacolod employees also gave out water bottles for the 350 grade one pupils of the Vista Alegre-Granada Relocation Elementary School as part of the Share More and Be blessed project.
