2 shot dead inside car; child unhurt

TWO persons were killed by unidentified perpetrators inside their car at Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) Port in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Tuesday evening, June 1, 2021.

Police identified the fatalities as Dexter Bryan Ursos, 41, of Barangay 4; and Fernando Mahipos, 39, of Purok Boulevard, Barangay 14.

A four-year-old girl, whose identity was withheld for security reasons, was also inside the vehicle, but she was unhurt.

Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, chief of Police Station 2, said Ursos was driving his Mitsubishi Mirage vehicle along with Mahipos and the girl when unidentified assailants fired at them around 7:30 p.m.

The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime eight empty-fired cartridge cases, a deformed slug, a sachet of shabu, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, P4,000 counterfeit money, and other personal belongings of the victims.

Pendon said they have no lead yet on the identities of the suspects.

He said they are still conducting further investigation to determine the motive and the identity of the suspects.

He added they will also check the background of the victims.
