400 grams of marijuana seized

ABOUT 400 grams of dried marijuana leaves were seized in a drug bust conducted by operatives of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-Western Visayas in Purok Tuna, Barangay 1, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon, November 13.

The operation, which was led by Police Lieutenant Thurslie Castillo, also led to the arrest of Gideon Ulysis Nava, 21, of Barangay 1.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Nava was arrested after he sold marijuana to a police under cover at about 5 p.m.

Police recovered from Nava’s possession one big marijuana stalk, 32 big self-sealing transparent plastic sachets of marijuana with estimated market value of P48,000, the P1,300 marked money, weighing scale, and bag.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
