74 drug surrenderers profiled in San Carlos

AT LEAST 74 drug surrenderers were profiled and made to undergo drug testing in Barangay Prosperidad, San Carlos City on March 4, 2021.

The activity was in preparation for Barangay Prosperidad to be declared a drug-free barangay.

The activity was part of Oplan Tapok Hangyo (Taphang) of San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SCCADAC).

The surrenderers were profiled and drug-tested, including barangay officials, employees and tanods.

Ana Liza Macaraya, legal assistant of the City Legal Office and SCCADAC secretariat, said 74 individuals were the target of the said activity, which is in preparation of the application of Barangay Prosperidad to be declared as a drug-free barangay.

Oplan Taphang was earlier conducted in the same barangay and yielded only five individuals being profiled.

The said activity was facilitated in coordination with the San Carlos City police, City Social Welfare and Development Office and City Health Office.
