Several suspected stolen items were recovered by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) inside the rented house of an alleged leader of a crime group at Villa Homes Subdivision in Barangay Vista Alegre on Tuesday.

Captain Elmer Bonilla, chief of Police Station 7, said yesterday, January 12, they recovered several accessories, helmets, bags, shoes and appliances inside the rented house of Arnold “Aki” CuadrA.

Cuadra was found dead at a river bank at Barangay Villamonte in the city on January 8.

Bonilla said they were accompanied by Police Stations 3, 4 and 6 with robbery hold-up cases perpetrated by the group of Cuadra.

On the same day, Cuadra’s three companions identified as Jhundelle Rafols, 25, his cousin Leonil Rafols, 26, and Rene Boy Dacillo, “alias Kogan,” 30, were also found dead in separate areas in Murcia and Bago City.

Investigation showed that around 11 p.m. on January 7, a group of armed men on board an L300 van and Toyota Innova arrived at Villa Homes Subdivision, Barangay Vista Alegre in Bacolod City.

The men then barged into the rented house of the victims, but Cuadra was able to escape and attempted to cross the river going to Villa Angela Subdivision at the adjacent Barangay Villamonte.

The suspects, however, followed and shot him while his companions were abducted by the suspects.

Bonilla said some of the stolen items were already turned over to the victims while the remaining items were endorsed to Police Stations 3, 4 and 6.

He said the group of Cuadra was involved in several robbery incidents in various areas in Bacolod City.

Bonilla admitted that they are facing difficulty in identifying the perpetrators behind the killing of Cuadra.

He said they have no lead yet on the identities of the assailants, whom they claimed to be not less than five armed men.

The investigators will also check the closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the area.

Bonilla disclosed that the family of Cuadra also failed to cooperate with the police, but they are still conducting a thorough investigation to solve the killing.*
