Another Bacolod mall-based vaccination site opens

THE City Government of Bacolod has partnered with Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidental-Bacolod Chapter to operate the sixth mall-based vaccination site in the city that opened at Gaisano City Mall Monday, August 9, 2021.

City Administrator Em Ang, executive director of Emergency Operations Center (EOC), said the vaccination site is located on the second floor, Cinema area.

Ang said it can cater to 300 individuals who want to avail themselves of Covid-19 vaccines every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

"Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that the city government will continue to partner with malls as vaccination sites as he also invites volunteers to help in order to accelerate the city's vaccination drive," she added.

The EOC head also said that malls are suitable vaccination sites as these are spacious, accessible to public transportation and located strategically.

"Supply-permitting, we will open more vaccination sites and we are preparing the logistics, personnel, and scheduling of the vaccination recipients," Ang added.

Present during the opening were Philippine Red Cross Negros-Bacolod Chapter Chairman Carlos Ganihong, Chapter Administrator Ben Nette Mirasol, personnel and volunteers.

Also present were Gaisano Grand Leasing Manager Rhea Medina and Area Operations Manager Chone Tan and head of security, Gilbert Linda.
