A 41-YEAR-OLD male overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who arrived in Bacolod on May 13, 2020 on board 2GO vessel tested positive for the new virus that causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The OFW's RT-PCR test was done on May 19 or six days after his arrival.

Patient 13 was on an international cruising vessel with port of exit in Miami, Florida on April 17, 2020.

He was quarantined in a hotel in Manila from April 18 to May 12. Initial test done in Manila on May 2 yielded a negative result.

The patient claimed to be asymptomatic.

The City Health Office (CHO) will transfer the patient to a quarantine facility in Bacolod City and subject him to a repeat RT-PCR test, two weeks after testing.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, in a statement, said: "This is a reminder to all of us that the virus is still there. It doesn't matter if we are under ECQ, GCQ, or whatever classification, the virus will still be there. Let us be careful and continue to observe the minimum health protocols such as wearing of face masks and observing physical distancing, as we grapple with this pandemic that is Covid-19." (PR)
