Arriving Negrenses urged to undergo voluntary swab test

THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, through Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, appealed to returning Negrenses to undergo a voluntary Covid-19 swab test.

"We continue to appeal to our incoming Negrenses to undergo swab test for their own personal safety and their respective families. Let us embrace this practice," Diaz said.

He pointed out that in the past few months, it has been proven that voluntary swabbing for incoming Negrenses resulted in the reduction of Covid-19 cases.

Diaz made the appeal as there are some arriving Negrenses who are complaining that they are reportedly compelled to undergo swab test and quarantine despite that they have secured a negative RT-PCR test result from the places where they came.

They said there are local government units where swab results take from three days or even longer to come out.

Diaz also said that 150 rooms have been added to the E.B. Magalona Healing Center and that doctors, nurses, and other health workers have been deployed to the quarantine facilities.

He also said that an inn located in Bacolod City has agreed with the Provincial Government to accommodate some returning Negrenses who would like to stay in their facility at their own personal expense.

"Those who would like to stay at the inn will only spend P1,500 per person that includes the accommodation and food," Diaz said.
