Authorities seize P108K ‘shabu’ in Binalbagan

MEMBERS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Binalbagan Municipal Police Station arrested a drug suspect with P108,000 worth of suspected shabu at about 4 p.m. Monday, November 21, at the town’s Barangay Enclaro.

PDEA identified the arrested suspect as Aphrodite Rivera Song, 38, of the barangay’s Purok Daisy, with several sachets of the contraband weighing 16 grams.

Song was reported via “Isumbong Mo Sa PDEA!” hotline, a statement from the agency said.

“Isumbong Mo Sa PDEA” is a program where the public can send tips via text message and social media to alert the PDEA on illegal drug activities in their localities.

In Bago City, laborer Eduardo Cuayson was arrested with 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.1 grams valued at P7,480 at his residence in Purok Paraiso 2, Barangay Taloc earlier Monday.

The police also recovered from his possession a .22 caliber revolver with five ammunition.

Meanwhile, Ariel Abellar, 41, of Sitio Barra Bat-os at Barangay Mambulac in Silay City was arrested at Saint Francis Village in the city in a buy-bust operation also on Monday.

Nine sachets of the illegal substance weighing nine grams and valued at P61,200 were recovered from him.

The arrested suspects are now detained at the police stations while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.*
