THE City Government of Bacolod is now implementing the skeletal workforce at the Bacolod Government Center effective April 5.

This was stressed by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran Tuesday, April 6, after he already issued a directive to the City Council offices for the implementation of skeletal workforce due to the sudden spike of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Bacolod City.

Familiaran said Mayor Evelio Leonardia also issued a directive for the implementation of skeletal workforce at the City Mayor's Office and other offices at the Bacolod Government Center.

He said more than 10 employees at the Bacolod Government Center already tested positive for Covid-19, including the personnel from the City Council, City Engineer's Office and Emergency Operations Center.

"They should have a team or shifting of their duties so that not all of them will be infected with the virus once one of them tests positive for Covid-19," he added.

Dr. Edwin Miraflor, officer-in-charge of CHO, earlier said about 18 employees at the Bacolod Government Center tested positive for Covid-19.

Of the number, 14 of them were assigned at the City Engineer's Office.

All of them were already transferred to the city's quarantine facility.

On Monday, April 5, about 65 employees assigned at CEO, City Treasurer's Office, City Council, Emergency Operations Center, City Mayor's Office and Registrar's Office also underwent surveillance testing at the Bacolod Government Center.

As of April 5, Bacolod City has a total of 6,214 Covid-19 cases. Of the number 5,719 patients already recovered, 305 active cases with 190 deaths.
