AT LEAST 50 houses were razed by an afternoon fire in Purok Neptune, Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City Monday, April 26, 2021.

Initial reports showed that some 250 individuals belonging to 55 families were affected by the blaze that lasted for almost an hour.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is still investigating the cause of the fire but some residents said they heard an explosion from the house of one of their neighbors.

Authorities have also yet to certain the number of destroyed and damaged houses, as well as the amount of damage.

The affected residents are temporarily taking shelter in a covered court. (Erwin P. Nicavera)
