Sunnexdesk

IN OBSERVANCE of the Urban Poor Solidarity week, the Bacolod City government conducted a People's Plan Presentation at the lobby of Bacolod City Government Center yesterday, December 7.

People from various sectors convened and presented their feedback, concerns, and proposals regarding the Yuhum Village, a housing project of the city government and to fulfill the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino program.

Some residents lauded the project and its sustainable plans in benefit to informal settler families of Bacolod City.

During the open forum, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez acknowledged a proposal having the first five years of payment prioritize interest payable instead of principal.

Also present at the event were Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, City Legal Head Romeo Carlos Ting Jr., City Administrator Atty. Pacifico Maghari III, and Atty. Jopet Sison.

The program contributes to the national target of “zero informal settler families” by 2028, aiming one million houses to be built every year, or six million houses by the end of the President’s term. (PR)
