THE City of Bacolod, in partnership with Usher Technologies, is developing GOCLEAN Sanitation Chambers to help combat Covid-19.

Once a prototype has passed inspection, the chamber will be deployed to different areas of high contact in the city like hospitals, Covid Centers, and the Bacolod City Government Center.

Usher Technologies is a startup supported by DOST-PCIEERD and Mapua University. They have made their designs for the chamber free for use for local government units to help fight Covid-19.

The initiative for Bacolod to avail the chamber was led by Loren Kara Leonardia, daughter of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, in coordination with Dr. Francis Aldrine Uy, founder and president of USHER.

GOCLEAN Sanitation Chambers will have footbath with soap and zonrox solution and misting machine with disinfectant solution cabinet and will have assigned personnel responsible in operating the chamber.

The Chamber is essential in times like these to lessen or avoid the contamination of our buildings and establishments by the Covid-19 virus. The purpose of the chambers is to disinfect people going in and out of buildings like hospitals, supermarkets, and offices.

The City Engineer’s Office of Bacolod is now working constantly with the volunteer engineers online for the prototyping and fabrication of the GOCLEAN Sanitation Chambers.

The prototype of the chamber for Bacolod City will be adjusted from the original design to use supplies that can be sourced locally for quicker deployment. (PR)
