THE city government of Bacolod is now implementing the Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP), Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said Wednesday, March 1.

Benitez said they already have the official lists of BacCHP members, which prioritize the poorest of the poor.

"We would like to have a very efficient system. All who will be confined in the hospital will go home with zero billing," he said.

He added that one of the BacCHP members, a resident of Barangay 27, has already availed himself of the program after being confined at the Metro Bacolod Hospital and Medical Center.

The mayor noted that the male patient’s hospital bill reached at least P191,000 and was paid through the BacCHP program and PhilHealth.

Benitez stressed that the city will distribute all the BacCHP cards on Monday, March 6, at the Bacolod City Government Center. The remaining cards will be distributed in the barangays.

Benitez noted that those who will not receive their cards can also use a temporary document from the city government.

As of March 1, Bacolod City has registered at least 15,000 BacCHP members, which was validated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Benitez said it’s the target of the city to register at least 20,000 beneficiaries, and they've already allotted an initial budget of P50 million for the said program.

He said that all Bacolodnons will be catered to in this program as long as they apply for the BacCHP card.*
