Bacolod VM backs construction of legislative building

Merlinda A. Pedrosa

BACOLOD City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran has expressed support for the construction of the legislative building adjacent to the Bacolod Government Center (BGC).

Familiaran said yesterday, November 21 that they need the new building to accommodate the legislative offices because the old one is already crowded.

“We also need an office for our records and office supplies among others,” he said.

Once it is completed, the existing offices at the Sangguniang Panlungsod can also be used by other departments, Familiaran said.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez earlier announced that the city will construct the P600 million legislative building at the BGC.

He said the project will be financed through a loan and it’s expected to be completed next year.

He added the building will be constructed with a parking area. (MAP)
