Teresa D. Ellera

BAGO City Mayor Nicholas Yulo announced that he is cancelling the annual celebration of "Cinco de Noviembre," which is observed every November 5, because of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Yulo said the city will instead hold a simple wreath-laying ceremony to the statue of General Juan Araneta as part of the city's observance of the event.

Yulo pointed out the current priority of the city is to make sure that the public health and safety is maintained in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Based on data released by the Bago City Health Office, the city has a total of 244 confirmed cases, of which 46 are tagged as active cases.

The city also has a total of eight deaths, while 190 have recovered.
