THE Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Bacolod City will inaugurate its new sub-station in Alila Street, Barangay Mansilingan on December 28.

City Fire Marshal Chief Inspector Publio Plotena said Monday, December 21, that the new sub-station was constructed through the assistance of the BFP-Western Visayas and the local government of Bacolod.

"We have now a total of seven sub-stations in Bacolod City to immediately respond in a fire incident," he said.

Other BFP's sub-stations include in the area of Lopez-Jaena Street, Libertad Street, Rodriguez Avenue, Barangays Granada, Pahanocoy and Sum-ag.

Plotena said the new fire sub-station will benefit not only Barangay Mansilingan, but also the neighboring barangays of Handumanan, Felisa and Cabug.

He said about five personnel will be assigned to the new fire sub-station.

Plotena said he is also proposing to have additional sub-stations in the area of Barangays Mandalagan and Handumanan, but they need lot donations for these projects.
