AN ESTIMATED P420,000 worth of suspected drugs was recovered while two brothers were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City Friday, January 4.

Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, assistant team leader of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), identified the target subject as Rogelio Villanueva, 28.

His older brother, Ricky, was also arrested in the operation after he allegedly conspired with the suspect in the illegal drug trade.

Police seized from them 13 sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), the P1,000 marked money, eight live ammunition of .45 caliber pistol, and three live ammunition of a homemade shotgun.

Rogelio also allegedly yielded a .45 caliber pistol and a grenade while police recovered from Ricky a homemade shotgun.

Both suspects are under the drugs watchlist of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

Albaytar said the suspects alleged they get their supply from a known drug group in the city, but it is still subject for validation.

Both suspects will be facing charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, and illegal possession of firearms.

Rogelio will be facing additional charges for illegal possession of explosives.

The two suspects are detained at Police Station 7.
