NEGROS Occidental Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said the province is trying to hasten the completion of the Pala-Pala food terminal so it will be turned over by Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. to his successor before his term ends on June 30.

Gelvolea said the P115 million food terminal is already complete, however, there are still variations that needs approval which caused the delay.

By the second quarter of this year, the province expects the total completion of the project.

Aside from the food terminal, the structure has two-storey building which will serve as function rooms for seminars and other similar occasions.

Gelvolea said there are already several vendors who are interested in occupying the food terminal.

"This will also be part of the legacy of Governor Marañon," she added.

Gelvolea, who is also the head of the Economic Enterprise Department, said she met on Monday, Januart 21, with the concerned employees and officials who are part of the project including the security personnel at the Pala-Pala Food Terminal.
