CENECO explains unscheduled power outages on July 16-17

Sunnexdesk

DUE to heavy rain and bad weather condition brought by the landfall of Tropical Storm Falcon, several areas under the coverage of CENECO were affected and experienced unscheduled power interruptions on July 16 and 17.

Areas of Villamonte, Estefania, Granada, Alangilan, Bata, Sum-ag, Pahanocoy, Pta. Taytay, Mandalagan, Mansilingan, Handumanan, Taculing, Singcang, Vista Alegre and Alijis experienced the said power interruptions.

Strong winds and continuous rainfall occurred on Tuesday, causing several of CENECO electric poles to topple down. Moreover, it had caused the trip-off of Bacolod-Silay 69kV transmission line affecting Burgos, Mt. View, Talisay, Lopez, and Panaogao Feeders.

To restore power gradually, Prk. Cabacawan, Villamonte, Sto. Domingo, Banago, Puno Banago, Ramyla Drive, and Tangub were temporarily isolated as CENECO crew continues to troubleshoot the cause of the said power interruption.

CENECO apologizes for the inconvenience the unscheduled power interruption had caused. (PR)
