DSSD launches sustainable livelihood program

Sunnexdesk

THE Department of Social Service and Development Office (DSSD) held an orientation for beneficiaries of the sustainable livelihood program at Villamonte Gym last March 29. A total of 145 beneficiaries from various barangays in the city were selected and screened to participate in the program.

The orientation aimed to identify the skill set of each beneficiary to provide them with appropriate training for their livelihood. Through the assistance of the DSWD Region 6 Sustainable Livelihood Program, the DSSD will establish a Bacolod Livelihood Association to ensure that the support given to the beneficiaries will generate income and be sustainable.

The sustainable livelihood program is part of the government's efforts to provide aid to marginalized individuals and families. By equipping them with the necessary skills and resources, they can start their own businesses and earn a living. The DSSD and DSWD are committed to helping the beneficiaries and promoting inclusive economic growth in Bacolod.* (PR)
