REELECTIONIST Senator JV Ejercito has vowed to push for the institutionalization of compensation and benefits for Barangay Health Workers (BHW) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) now that the Universal Health Care (UHC) is already a law.

In a radio interview on Sunday, March 31, Ejercito shared the important roles of these barangay workers in terms of health protection and promotion at the grassroots level.

Ejercito said BHW and BNS personnel are indispensable frontliners in the government’s health service as well as in the implementation of UHC.

Ejercito said that if reelected, he would prioritize a measure that would uplift the quality of life of BHW and BNS personnel, as well as their families, especially now that their knowledge is needed to ensure that the implementation of UHC will be successful.

The senator added: “BHW and BNS could expect that I will make sure of your welfare through appropriate benefits and compensation being in the frontline of government service.” (TDE)
