NEGROS Occidental Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr. said Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has a different style of management so Negrenses should expect better things to come under his administration.

"We see and pray that Lacson will equal or perform much better than the governor (Alfredo Marañon Jr.),” Escalante said.

Lacson and former Fourth District representative Jeffrey Ferrer were officially endorsed as the gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial bets of the merged United Negros Alliance (Unega) and Love Negros.

As of this time, the two are unopposed.

Escalante said he has been with Lacson at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and they have been together when they were still mayors, Lacson in San Carlos City and Escalante in Cadiz City, and that he has observed the affairs of the SP and the city of San Carlos.

He described Lacson as stricter than the governor.

Escalante said that Lacson in the meetings of the leaders of Unega and Love Negros has pledged to continue the programs of the present administration like the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP), the scholarship and health programs.

Lacson has also asked Marañon that he will consult him on running the affairs of the province especially the economy.

Next year, Escalante bared the province will have P4 billion budget which is 10.7 percent higher than this year's budget.
