Fastcraft operators between Bacolod City and Iloilo City are expected to add more trips in December after a noticeable increase in the number of passengers.

Frank Carbon, operator of Weesam Express, said the reopening of passenger commercial travel between Bacolod City and Iloilo City has also brought back the livelihood for many sectors.

The reopening of trips has also generated an income of P200,000 to P300,000.

Carbon is hoping the number of Covid-19 cases in the next few weeks will continue to decrease so that their operations will not be suspended.

Fastcrafts have resumed operation but with only one trip each from Iloilo to Bacolod and Bacolod to Iloilo.

Carbon also said they are appealing to increase their passenger load capacity.

In November, Commander Ludovico Librilla, PCG-Negros Occidental station chief, said the number of people entering and leaving the Simplicio Palanca Sea Terminal at the Bredco port in Bacolod City is increasing.

The PCG commander believes the number of ship passengers would further balloon as the holiday season draws near.
