A FEMALE minor was injured after she was shot at a basketball court in Barangay 27, Bacolod City Tuesday.

Wounded was a 17-year-old girl, whose name was withheld.

Senior Inspector Rey Tolosa Jr., head of Police Station 4, said suspect Ronnie Javellana, 22, of Barangay 31 went to the house of the minor and confronted her about her alleged closeness with his former partner.

A misunderstanding ensued between them and the suspect suddenly shot her, hitting her right arm. Javellana then fled.

She was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Police recovered from the scene Javellana's improvised .22 caliber and a fired cartridge.

Tolosa said they cannot yet tell the motive.

Police are locating the whereabouts of the suspect. (GYM)
