“NO MORE words. After a thorough investigation, find an ultimate solution.”

This was the reaction of Acting Governor Jeffrey Ferrer to Bacolod City Police Deputy Director Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espenido who divulged to the public the list of some drug groups in Bacolod City.

Espenido also warned the drug personalities to surrender or it will be bloody for them.

“Who is the drug lord to surface? Who will admit that he is a drug lord? No more words, find an ultimate solution,” Ferrer said.

Meanwhile progressive groups Karapatan-Negros and Bayan-Negros slammed the recent statements made by Espenido telling those involved in illegal drugs to cooperate or die.

In a joint statement made by Karapatan-Negros spokesperson Clarizza Singson, and Bayan-Negros spokesperson Ereneo Longinos, they pointed out the recent statements made by Espenido is “a blatant disregard to due process and human rights.”

They accused Espenido of deliberately disregarding human rights and due process for those involved in illegal drug activities regardless if they are guilty or not.

“It appears that Espenido’s only option to accelerate the resolution of illegal drugs problem in the island is to commit murderous act and drown the region with the blood of civilians including innocents which will definitely be collaterals in his crusade,” they said.

They further added the transfer of Espenido in Negros will worsen the already unrelenting human rights violations in the region.
