Fisherfolks get P200,000 aid in San Carlos

SAN Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo turned over checks worth P200,000 to two fisherfolk organizations in the city Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

Aida Gando, president of Buluangan Fisherfolk Vendors Association, and Elena Damandaman, representative of Caimito Marginal Fisherfolks Association, received their checks worth P100,000 each for their livelihood projects in the city.

Gando said they plan to use the assistance for their group's rice retailing business. They also discussed with the Cooperatives Livelihood Development Office (CLDO) how to make their business more profitable and beneficial especially among their members.

Edward Burgos, CRM supervising environmental management specialist of the City Environment Management Office, Raymund Gepitulan, supervising cooperatives development specialist of CLDO, with staff Marlin Maglayon, Edith Dano, in-charge for the Coastal and Non-agricultural Livelihood Association, and Nelia Damandaman, secretary of Caimito Marginal Fisherfolks Association, were present during the turnover.
