FORMER Bacolod City vice mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson confirmed to SunStar Bacolod that he will challenge incumbent Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran in the vice mayoralty seat in the 2019 elections.

He said he belongs to an independent opposition formed by Abang Lingkod party-list Representative Stephen Paduano.

They have formed their own slate and the posts for the councilors were already fielded.

For the mayoralty post, he is not yet sure if Councilor Ricardo "Cano" Tan or businessman Vladimir Gonzales will seek the position.

"We will only know it when they finally file their certificate of candidacy,” he added.

Former mayor and congressman Monico Puentevella is planning to run for congressman in the Lone District and will challenge incumbent Representative Greg Gasataya.

Other possible returnees for councilor were former Councilors Homer Bais and Alex Paglomutan.
