"GO WHEREVER you like as long as you comply with the protocols."

This was the advice of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson on Sunday, July 11, 2021, as travel restrictions are eased for those who completed their Covid-19 vaccinations.

The IATF, in Resolution 124-B, eased the rules on the interzonal travel of fully-vaccinated persons. It stated that travelers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 are only required to present proof of complete vaccination instead of swab test results.

The DOH issued a different guideline on Wednesday that stated that negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results may still be required for fully vaccinated tourists.

The local government units (LGUs) have the final say on the requirements for travelers who will visit areas that are within their jurisdiction, Malacañang said.

The clarification was made after some LGUs expressed concern over the Inter-Agency Task Force the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases’ (IATF-EID) previous resolution relaxing domestic travel protocols.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the IATF-EID issued on Thursday a new resolution revising its earlier policy to avoid confusion and emphasize that LGUs can still require domestic travelers to take RT-PCR tests.
