BACOLOD City Councilor Claudio “Kalaw” Puentevella said on Friday, September 14, that they respect the decision of Councilor Ana Marie Palermo to transfer to rival group, Grupo Progreso.

Puentevella, the son of former mayor Monico Puentevella who led the local political party Magbinuligay Kita sa Kauswagan (MKK), said it’s the personal decision of Palermo to transfer to other group.

“I still love her because her heart is with the MKK. We will wait that she will inform us,” he said.

He added it’s only a convenience for politics, but Palermo’s heart is still with the MKK and she will be back soon.

Palermo had earlier confirmed that she will join the Grupo Progreso led by Mayor Evelio Leonardia for 2019 elections.

In 2016, she ran under the political group of MKK led by Puentevella.

Palermo said she is also thankful to the group of MKK who supported her in the previous elections.

Meanwhile, Puentevella said they will announce their final line-up for the 2019 elections maybe next week.

He said they have already the lineup for congressman, mayor and vice mayor and they are only finalizing the lists for councilor.

“We will announce it soon or next week and I still have to talk with the three top bosses of our group because of the recent incident at the City Council,” he added. (MAP)
