MOISES Padilla Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo confirmed that she tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and that she placed the Municipal Hall on lockdown since Thursday morning, June 3, 2021.

In a statement released by Yulo, she said she underwent reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing on Wednesday and got the result Thursday morning. After learning of her test result, she immediately ordered all of her staff to go on isolation and to also undergo swab testing.

"Our government has been fighting the battle with Covid-19 for more than a year already and we are almost exhausting our resources in order to protect the health of the public as well as the [town's] citizens," Yulo said.

She again appealed to residents to follow health protocols such as wearing face masks, frequent hand washing, and observing proper physical distancing.

She also encouraged the town's residents to take advantage of the free vaccine given by the government as it would protect them from the effects of the virus.

"This virus is here to stay and history dictates, it is on," she added.
