More than P100K ‘shabu’ seized in Kabankalan, Silay

MORE than P100,000 worth of suspected shabu were recovered in buy-bust operations conducted in the cities of Kabankalan and Silay, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, December 6.

These operations resulted to the arrests of Jessie Dolorfino, alias “Itim”, 44 of Purok Malipayon at Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan and fish vendor Renato Espinosa, 38, Sitio Dapdap Tuburan at Barangay Lantad in Silay, reports from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office showed.

Espinosa was arrested at the Silay City Public Market past 4 p.m. after reportedly selling the banned substance exchange for P2,100 to a poseur buyer.

Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, Silay City police chief, said they recovered at least twelve sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams and valued at P102,000 and illegal drug paraphernalia from the suspect during his arrest.

Earlier on Tuesday, Dolorfino was arrested at his residence by the police for allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P2,500 from a poseur buyer.

Lt. Col. Alvimar Flores, who is the officer-in-charge of Kabankalan City police, reported that the item they recovered weighs seven grams and is valued at P47,600.

The suspects are now detained at the lock-up cells of Kabankalan and Silay City police stations while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.
