THE African Swine Fever (ASF) is still a concern in the province and that the Task Force ASF is still on heightened alert.

This was revealed Tuesday, December 17, by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson as he admitted that ASF has been the concern of the province for the past several months.

The governor said ASF is still a concern now because “we found out some products that are not supposed to come in are being passed through local couriers.”

Whether these products are coming through couriers, they still pass through our seaports and airports, Lacson said.

That’s why the Task Force on ASF is still on heightened alert.

Live pigs and pork products have been banned to enter the province since ASF has been confirmed in some provinces in the country.

Aside from ASF, Lacson said that dengue has also been a challenge of his administration the past months.

But he said dengue cases in the province has been going down.

“Those were the challenges of our administration and we are succeeding so far,” Lacson said.

He said that the concerns of the administration are also being addressed to. (TDE)
