NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson revealed plan of reopening to the public the Capitol Lagoon and Park.

The facility has been closed since March at the start of the pandemic.

Lacson said he has asked Dr. Zeaphard Caellan, commander of the Provincial Incident Management Team, to submit proposed protocols to open up the facility.

The park is owned by the Provincial Government.

The plan to reopen the Lagoon and park is revealed amid the national government's relaxing health protocols to pump prime the economy from the impact of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Pressed if there is a target date for the Lagoon's reopening to the public, Lacson said: "We are not rushing."

The three-hectare Lagoon was closed in March with the onslaught of coronavirus in the province.

The park is a popular venue for exercise, relaxation and leisure for Bacoleños and Negrenses.
