THE health team of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental is now working double time on its coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination program.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said nurses, medical technologists and health attendants, among others, who were previously assigned at the quarantine facilities have been pulled out already.

Diaz said they are assigned to augment the local government units in the ongoing vaccination in preparation for the National Vaccination Days from November 29 to December 1.

He said the volume of vaccines that arrived in the province was delayed and that some of the vaccines are nearing expiration.

Earlier, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the province targets 99,000 Negrenses to be vaccinated during the National Vaccination days.

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared November 29 to December 1 as the "Bayanihan, Bakunahan National Covid-19 Vaccination Days" as the government moves to boost the country's inoculation rate against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Duterte has signed Proclamation 1253 for the conduct of the three-day national vaccination drive, which will be headed by the Departments of Health and the Interior and Local Government
