Negros Occidental scores 88% in clearing ops

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has given a score of 88.3 percent to the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental in the campaign against illegal structures.

Lawyer Ferdinand Panes, DILG-Negros Occidental director, said the score is based on reports given to them by their validations teams.

He said the validation teams have been sent to the province's various towns and cities in order to determine if they are following the DILG's memorandum.

Panes added even though the current rating has passed on the standards set by the DILG, he said they will continue monitoring the towns and cities to make sure that the illegal structures will not resurface.
