ANOTHER vehicle, a black Toyota Innova, has served as convoy to the two vehicles reportedly used during the assassination of Provincial Consultant Marton Cui in San Carlos City on April 12.

This was revealed Tuesday, April 20, by Police Lieutenant Abegail Donasco, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Nocppo) based on the review of the closed circuit television (CCTV) footages.

Donasco said the black Innova was seen to have passed by in Barangay Quezon, San Carlos City, but authorities are still establishing where the three vehicles exited from the city.

The two vehicles that were earlier captured with the CCTV were a white van and a gray Starex van.

Meanwhile, Cui was laid to rest at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at the Cui Family Mausoleum in San Carlos City after a mass at the Cathedral.

Governor Eugenio Lacson, San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo, Escalante City Mayor Melecio Yap and other local officials in the first district were among those who joined the family of Cui during his burial.

Donasco said they are still establishing as to what firearm was used and the motive behind the killing of Cui.

The assailants were earlier reported to have probably positioned inside the van, which was reported to have parked at a distance from Cui's office where he was gunned down.

Authorities believe that the Cui assassination was well planned.
