Over 1,900 health protocol violators arrested in Negros Occidental

A TOTAL of 1,906 violators of health protocols relative to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic were arrested in Negros Occidental from March 17 to August 2, 2020.

Based on the records of the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOCPPO), the violators were comprised of 1,733 curfew violators while 173 were violators of health protocol like not wearing of face masks, non-observance on social distancing or mass gathering in public places.

Meanwhile, as to crime statistics covering the period July 27 to August 2, 44 incidents were recorded, which is 6.38 percent lower compared to 47 incidents in the previous week.

On the eight focus crimes, rape decreased by 50 percent. From two incidents the previous week, only one case was recorded during the period. There were also zero cases of theft, carnapping and motornapping, NOCPPO reported.
