AN ESTIMATED P516,800 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a joint drug bust operation by operatives of Police Station 5 and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay 12, Bacolod City, on Wednesday night, March 22.

The operation also led to the arrest of Darel Demafilis, 22, a resident of the said village.

Captain Francis Depasucat, commander of Police Station 5, said Thursday, March 23, that Demafilis was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Police recovered from Demafilis’s possession were 76 grams worth of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Depasucat said Demafilis, who was identified as high-value individual in Bacolod City, was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is being held at the custodial facility of Police Station 5. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
