SENATOR Emmanuel Pacquiao will be in Bacolod City on August 22 to witness the first hometown game of Bacolod Master’s team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

This was confirmed by Bacolod City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya Thursday, June 13, after he attended the MPBL opening in Pasay City on Wednesday.

Gasataya said he expressed his gratitude to Pacquiao on Wednesday night that finally Bacolod is included in the regional basketball league.

“Pacquiao told me that he personally set the schedule of Bacolod Master’s team on August 22 so he can also attend and witness the game here in Bacolod,” he said.

He added that Bacolod Master’s team will face the Soccsksargen team.

Gasataya noted that he will meet with some people to finalize the location of the game here.

The city’s team is sponsored by the Master Sardines that will be in charge of the operation of the team.

The team will be composed of players from Bacolod City and Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players who are residents of Bacolod.

MPBL is a regional semi-professional basketball league in the Philippines. It was launched by Senator Pacquiao on August 29, 2017. (MAP)
