THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Western Visayas, along with Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and local government units (LGUs), launched "Project Undaspot, Oplan Harabas" on October 28 in preparation for All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

Under the project, simultaneous surprise mandatory drug tests to drivers of buses region-wide were conducted along with the distribution of information, education and communication (IEC) materials and K9 sweeping operations at bus terminals, airports and seaports.

In Bacolod and Negros Occidental, PDEA and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and its K9 Interdiction Units together with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bacolod Substation Command, conducted random paneling and K9 Sweeping at the BREDCO Port, Bacolod City , at Ceres North Bus Terminal, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City and at Ceres South Bus Terminal, Bacolod City.

In Western Visayas, a total of 282 individuals were subjected to the surprise random drug test comprising of 123 drivers, 98 conductors, one dispatcher, one inspector, 34 van drivers, four multi-cab drivers, 15 taxi drivers, and six tricycle drivers.

No illegal drugs were recovered during the said operations and none tested positive during the random surprise drug tests conducted, PDEA reported.
