PRO-Western Visayas to download personnel to local commands

THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas will soon provide additional personnel to different police units and offices in Western Visayas.

Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, PRO-Western Visayas director, in a text message to SunStar Bacolod, said the regional headquarters is currently on the process of recruiting new personnel.

On June 26, the City Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development (CACPTD) in Bacolod City approved a resolution requesting from PRO-Western Visayas for additional police personnel to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

At present, BCPO has a total of 643 uniformed personnel comprising of 36 police commissioned officers and 607 police non-commissioned officers.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran earlier said that the BCPO is need of 1,185 actual strength of uniformed personnel or an additional of 542 to be in accordance with the prevailing standard of 1:500 police to population ratio.

For his part, Bulalacao said he has yet to receive a copy of the resolution requesting for additional forces.

He said that they will download personnel to the local commands after the recruitment process.
