BACOLOD will soon have a permanent Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) office, as House Bill 8703, which seeks to establish a permanent PRC office in the city, was approved on third and final reading Monday, December 10.

Bacolod City Representative Greg Gasataya, who authored the bill, said the approved bill will be forwarded to the Senate for its concurrence.

He said Negros Occidental Fourth District Representative Juliet Ferrer, the committee vice chairperson, also co-authored the bill.

“It is a high time for Bacolod to have a permanent PRC office to cater not only our constituents but also the whole province of Negros Occidental as well as Negros Oriental,” he added.

Gasataya noted that this will be a big advantage for the people of Negros Island to process their documents in Bacolod.

In Western Visayas, the main office of PRC was in Iloilo City with a satellite office in Bacolod City, but some of the Bacoleños are still processing their documents in Iloilo City.
