Retired policemen get into heated argument, 1 injured in shooting

TWO retired policemen figured in a heated argument that led to a shooting and injured one of them at Menlo Village Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City, Negros Occidental Thursday morning, February 2.

Injured was retired policeman Abraham Perez, 56, of Sagay City.

The police report showed that the victim and the suspect identified as retired policeman Franklin Balbaguio, 50, figured in a heated argument due to a misunderstanding.

The suspect reportedly grabbed the victim’s firearm, causing them to grapple for the weapon.

In the end, the suspect overpowered the victim and was able to hold and fire the gun, hitting Perez on his left foot.

The victim was brought to the Queen of Mercy Hospital in Bacolod City, while the suspect was arrested by the Talisay police.* (MPE)
