BACOLOD City Police Station 2 is still conducting a thorough investigation to determine the identity of the perpetrators who robbed the J&T Express office at 11th Street, Barangay 7, in the city on March 17.

They took almost P1.1 million in cash.

Captain Jonito Pastrana, commander of Police Station 2, said Monday, March 20, that they are eyeing a former employee of the company as a possible suspect in the robbery.

Investigation showed that around 10:15 p.m. Friday, March 17, two unidentified men, on board a motorcycle, entered the J&T Express and declared a hold-up.

One of the suspects disarmed the security guard, identified as Recardo Timbad, 22, a resident of Barangay Robles, La Castellana, while his companion entered the office and took the money from the employee, 27-year-old Kate Karl Gestupa of Barangay Vista Alegre, the police said.

Pastrana said the suspects, who were wearing a bonnet, helmet, and black jacket, took the .9mm issued firearm of Timbad and fled.

He said there’s a possibility that the suspects might be former employees of the said company because they have knowledge of where the money was kept.

He added that J&T Express was operating until midnight.

Pastrana noted that the suspects took the P1.1 million cash placed in a cartoon, while Gestupa and Timbad were unhurt.

He said based on the footage from the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera, the movement of the suspects is familiar to the company.

The police are now coordinating with the management for a list of their former employees.*
