THE Police Regional Office (PRO) in Western Visayas will have a new police director effective Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, regional police spokesperson, said Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda has been named to replace Police Brigadier Rene Pamuspusan to head the PRO-Western Visayas.

Pamuspusan will serve as deputy director for Philippine National Police Directorate for Plans in Camp Crame, Malong said.

Pamuspusan served as Western Visayas police chief for one year and six months.

Malong said the turnover of command of the PRO-Western Visayas is tentatively scheduled on December 2 at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

Prior to his reassignment in the region, Miranda was the former chief of directorial staff of the defunct Negros Island Region Police Office.

A member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1990, he served as Manila Police District director and was the officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office in 2017.
