Sunnexdesk

THE San Carlos City District Jail is negative of illegal drugs.

This is based on the surprise jail shakedown or greyhound operation conducted Monday, March 9, by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Western Visayas.

During the operation, all of the district jail inmates were ordered out of their cells, while PDEA and BJMP personnel conducted a search.

A K9 Interdiction Unit was also deployed to search for illegal drugs and other contraband.

While the operation was ongoing, a random drug test was also conducted for 55 males and 10 female detainees.

The random drug test was also conducted for nine BJMP personnel manning the jail facility.

No drugs were found during the inspections and none of the inmates and the BJMP personnel tested positive for drug use. (TDE)
