A FISHERMAN from Hinoba-an town, Negros Occidental had been missing since Monday, October 24.

Cristina Hingaray, 68, told the police that her husband Maximino, 69, left their house at Barangay Asia past 8 a. that day to go on fishing.

Several hours later his boat was found drifting at the coastal waters of the town’s Barangay Alim but he was not there, she said.

Captain Ramel Bustamante said they could not yet ascertain whether the missing fisherman was drowned.

The Hinoba-an police already coordinated with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council and Philippine Coast Guard for a search and rescue operation.

They have not found the victim as of yesterday, October 27.

Authorities are asking residents living near the area where the fisherman went missing to report to them if in case they see him.
