Senior high-student shot dead

A MALE senior high school student was shot to death by an unidentified man during a fiesta in Barangay San Jose, Toboso, Negros Occidental, Friday night, March 16.

Killed was Kent John Lumanog, 18. He was a Grade 12 student.

Chief Inspector Ariel Pico, town police chief, said the victim was having a drinking session with his friends around 11 p.m. when the assailant fired at him.

Lumanog sustained a lone gunshot wound to his stomach and was rushed to a hospital. The suspect escaped.

The victim was transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City, where he died hours later.

Pico said the incident might be triggered by love triangle as he visited his girlfriend in the said village or it could be a case of mistaken identity.

Pico said they already have a person of interest.
