Seniors, PWDs receive assistance

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover of wheelchairs for senior citizens and hygiene kits for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and daycare children in a ceremonial distribution held at the Provincial Capitol grounds Thursday, October 14, 2021.

All 31 towns and cities of the province received two wheelchairs for senior citizen organizations, 20 hygiene kits for PWDs, and 30 hygiene kits for day care centers through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, a press release said.

The officers of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines of each local government unit and social welfare officers attended the activity.

A photocopy machine was also turned over to the PWD association of the Municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto.

Lacson said he is happy to know that most seniors are already vaccinated in most LGUs. He also campaigned for more Negrenses to get vaccinated sooner.
